LASER CUTTING

The Advantages of laser cutting over mechanical cutting include easier work holding and reduced contamination of workpiece (since there is no cutting edge which can become contaminated by the material or contaminate the material). Precision may be better, since the laser beam does not wear during the process. There is also a reduced chance of warping the material that is being cut, as laser systems have a small heat-affected zone. Some materials are also very difficult or impossible to cut by more traditional means.

HEAT TREAT – Oil-Quenched

Our quenching heat treatments will result in a guaranteed improvement of the properties of metal products, as well as an increase in their level of toughness—making these items more durable. During a quenching heat treatment, the material is heated up to suitable temperatures and then quenched in oil to fully harden, varying on the kind of steel being worked on

LASER ETCHING

Laser etching, which is a subset of laser engraving, occurs when the heat from the beam causes the surface of the material to melt.

  • The laser beam uses high heat to melt the surface of the material.
  • The melted material expands and causes a raised mark.

GRINDING

We offer Close tolerances and a broad size ranges with our Blanchard grinder. We can meet your lead times with our surface grinding department.

General tolerances for Blanchard ground steel plate:

  • Dimensions to plus or minus 0.002 inch
  • Parallelism to 0.0015 inch per foot (maximum of 0.006)

CNC MACHINING

We also offer CNC Mill and Lathe production. When a laser can’t do the job, we also offer traditional CNC Milled and lathe parts.
